Stop Smoking is Big Business

We know that the tobacco industry is huge. The amount of money they make is beyond imagination but think of how many people have stopped smoking over the last 10 or 20 years. That's an incredible amount of money the tobacco industry has lost, or have they? I don't know the answer but I like to think about things like, is the tobacco industry behind smoking cessation programs? Let's face it, the people who use stop smoking programs, pills, nicotine patches and the rest of the products and devices available spend a lot of money and yet many still keep smoking. Now if the tobacco industry was behind the manufacturing, distribution and sales of these products, they keep making money while you try to quit smoking. They got you when you smoked, when you tried to stop and again if you start smoking again.

One source online had a statistic that around eighty percent of people who stop smoking start again within a year. And you probably know people who have stopped smoking and started to smoke again more than once. It's like people who go on diets. They never go on one and succeed. There is so much money to be made in the stop smoking arena that I can't imagine tobacco industries aren't in on it. It's like McDonald's getting people fat if they eat their food but offer a salad. You'll be eating the fries and burger again, so enjoy the salad now. Like anyone who is truly healthy seeks out a McDonald's for a healthy salad. At least while the smoker is on their cycle of trying to quit the habit, there is some gain. Hopefully there will be that one time when they'll stop for good… for their own sake.
