Trying to Stop Smoking
There are probably more ways to stop smoking than most of us realize. You can stop smoking with a nicotine patch, nicotine gum, hypnosis, prescription medication from a doctor or just tough it out and go cold turkey. Those people that are able to just decide to stop smoking and quit and do it without any problem actually piss me off, if I'm being honest. If you ever smoked and tried to quit, you'd have an issue with this too… maybe I'm just jealous.
It's has become the non-social thing to do, so now everyone is doing their best to quit smoking, you know, kick the habit. The ironic part of this is that most of us started smoking because it was the social thing to do. No one told us later in life after we got hooked, some would say addicted, that everyone would be kicking the habit. Not that it's a bad thing to do, stop smoking; it's just not the easiest thing I ever tried.
I'm still looking for the best way for me to quit. Nicotine patches made me sick, I smoked while I chewed the nicotine gum and I'm not ready to take drugs to replace a drug … nicotine. I'm not sure what way will work but until I stop smoking I'll be searching for what works best. Maybe some day someone will find something new somewhere and if I find it I'll be sure to let you know.
